Rollerskates, graffiti and a god-tier soundtrack: Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

... is what we'd recommend you do with this game.   Heya, Michael here.   So, a little while back, we found that the original Jet Set Radio was on Steam.   This was quite the thing for us to learn you see, because JSR is one of those games we've often heard about, but had never had a chance to actually play.   A shame, because it's got a much vaunted soundtrack, and unsurprisingly for a musician, we're are a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to games with good soundtracks!   But yeah, we learned it had been on Steam for years, and was actually gonna get taken off the store, soon (it has been, by now).   So needless to say, we bought it while we could, and jumped right into it, having an absolute.....   .....ly awful time with the gameplay.   Yeah, sorry if you're a big fan of JSR, but you've gotta face it, man, it's the nostalgia doing it for ya. Because hopping into it as a fresh player in modern times? Maaaan, it feels clunky as all heck t...

Our music listening habits

Image
Greetelings everyone, Amalia here.    So, we figured that, seeing as we're a musician of.... indeterminate genre, some of you might (hopefully) be interested in what sort of music we actually listen to, and our general habits with that.   Now, you'd perhaps think that someone who makes music themselves would probably listen to tunes 24/7 and live and breathe music, but that's actually quite far from the reality, here.   See, we don't actually listen to music all that much in life, in the grand scheme of things. Typically, in the mornings, we prefer the quiet, enjoying some peaceful time for contemplation and meditation.   Our workplace is an industrial firm, but unlike many such places, the higher-ups don't want radios playing around the shop floors. Seems daft to us, since it's known to increase productivity in those kinds of settings. But alas.   Now, when we get home in the evenings, that's our prime time for music listening. When we're get...

An introduction

The Keytar is a frequent weapon of choice for us. Greetings, dear reader! So then, you found your way here, to our Blog. Good! Let's get right into it by answering a few questions you might have:   Who are you people, anyway? Well, we're Captain Casual. We're a tulpamancy system of two, and a musician. Or composer. Or music producer? The terms kinda blur when you're an independent artist.   But yes, if your reaction to the word "tulpamancy" was a good old-fashioned "Wot?", then we'd like to refer you to  this video we published on the topic. But while you're here, a quick summary:   We are two people sharing a body. Known as a "System" or "Plural". There's the so-called "host", Michael, and Amalia, a tulpa, or thoughtform. Now in our case, this isn't the result of trauma or anything. A tulpa is a deliberately created, sentient being, and we're quite happy being like this. Beyond music and being plura...
