Status Report #1, 23rd of March, 2025

G'day, folks!

So, we've decided to come up with a bit of a regular feature for this blog, mainly to get us writing and help us turn it into a routine, but also to let you good folks know how things are going and what we're up to. You know, like a blogger might do! :p

We're thinking this can be a bi-weekly, or maybe even weekly thing, sort of a diary, if you will. And we'll break it down into music-related stuff and non-music related stuff, just so people who don't care about us outside of our tunes don't get bored.

Also, no hard feelings if you're in that group.😉

So then, without further ado:

Our musical endeavors

So, in regard to music, at the time of writing this, we've just uploaded our next song and scheduled it for release on the 4th of April.

It's called "Mixed Signals", and as it happens this is our chonkiest tune so far, hitting 5 minutes and 18 seconds.
It's also a fairly complex one, going through a few phases through it's runtime, changing it's vibe. But yeah, you'll get to hear that.

Aside from Mixed Signals, as you might have noticed, we've finally just finished creating a bunch of visual elements for our stuff!
This includes a few bits of special waveform art for our Soundcloud releases. Check this out:

Is that cool or what? Well, we think it's cool, anyway. 😜

Speaking of Soundcloud, we've been working on expanding there. Our Drum Beets series is on there now, and we went and got a premium account. In the same go, we also started using Soundcloud as our distributor. Going well so far.

But what about our actual -music-? Well, we've gotta get some traction on our next project. Been looking to do something with an Indian touch, buuuut we haven't really gotten into the swing of it.
It's gonna happen though, not to worry! 😉

Also, you'll be able to read all about the process, because starting with this next release, we'll be putting out a new blog post for every new song, including a bit of a diary of the production that we add to as we make the song. So that should be neat!

Now then, that's about it for our current musical projects. Now for...

Our non-musical endeavours

Well, we're doing fairly well at the moment.
Been reading a nice Warhammer 40k novel. "Warboss" by Mike Brooks. The Giganob of Ork Authors, you might say. Last Ork-novel we read was "Brutal Kunnin'", and that was a glorious romp. This one's got the same energy. Very nice.

Also, we bought ourselves a funky little folding bike!

Obligatory stickers all over everything, of course.
We basically wanted to give ourselves some options beyond riding the train or walking everywhere.
And no, we don't have a car. No one below 40 does, now. Either out of principle, or because a 20-year-old used Toyota costs about 5 gazillion bucks, now. Oh well. 🤷

Anyway, the timing's quite good, as it happens. Next week, the train schedule's gonna be all screwed up because of maintenance and construction work, so we'll be riding the ~5 Kilometers (3.1 Miles) to work on our bike, instead. Nice warmup before work, eh?

Where we've been finding time, we've also been playing some
Arma 3, specifically the Global Mobilization DLC.
Now, being german, it's really cool to play as a Bundeswehr soldier in the cold war, and while we're from the hilly south and the DLC takes place in the flatlands of the north, it feels pretty homely.
But there's one thing about it that amuses the heck out of us. And it's the fact that the enemies in this game are, of course, the greatest threat mankind has ever faced!

~East Germans!~

Oh, the horror! 😆
It's a bit like if a shooter set in America had you specifically fighting Floridians. Just an odd concept to consider. Though of course, it could have been historically accurate, had things gone differently!
But yeah, we like the DLC overall. Got some cool stuff in it, and it's an interesting setting.

But yeah, i figure that's a sufficient roundup for today.
We've got a few posts for this Blog in an almost-finished state, and generally wanna start getting more into it, because frankly, writing longer-form stuff is more fun than trying to force ourselves to do more "normal" social media.

So yeah, see you around! Until then, have a good one! 👍
