The goodest of mornings to you, dear reader!   What do you mean it isn't morning? Look outside, silly! The sun is rising on a beautifully blue sky, with just enough white fluffy clouds to give nice decoration.   The morning air is fresh and pleasant, and we just had a lovely walk through and around town. Now then, time for a little writing, and perhaps a cup of green tea. (We already had our usual morning Assam. Don't wanna go too hard!)   Anywho, it's Amalia writing, today. So, let's get into our.....   Musical endeavours! Right! So, good news on that front! After a bit of a lull in recent weeks, our pace with working on music has been picking up, again!   Curiously, it's partially thanks to a bit of a shift in the way we think of our musical activities.   See, since we've started releasing our own music, and thus established it as a (potential) source of income, we gradually started thinking of our music as less of a hobby, and more of a side job. ...

Mornin' yall, Amalia here!    So, hope everyone's been doing well? All 5 of you who're reading along? 😜   Well, we're doing largely alright. Let me tell ya, starting with our...   Musical endeavors   Well, Mixed Signals released just this friday, and it's been..... eh?  Somewhat underwhelming, to be honest. On Youtube, where we're running a promotion for it, like 99.4% of the views are -just- from said promotion. Without it, we'd have like..... 5 views/listens? That ain't great. Especially considering that to our mind, Mixed Signals is kind of our best work yet. 😕   That said, at least a solid 11% of listeners stick around until the end of the song. That might not -sound- like a good number, but in our age of ravaged attention spans, that's pretty solid. And important for this song in particular, 'cause it goes through multiple phases.    Actually, tell ya what, why don't -you- give it a listen?    Gotch...

Option Overload - The conundrum of the modern musician

G'day folks, it's Michael here, and this is our Bass Guitar. It's not a very expensive one, and while you can hear us playing it in a few of our songs, we're not exactly a dedicated bassist.   More to the point though, this Bass guitar, despite looking all sorts of funky and having 3 whole knobs to twiddle, is a relatively limited instrument in terms of what sounds it'll produce.   Now, don't get me wrong, it's got a fretboard full of notes, you can twiddle the knobs for some fine-tuning, and you can do fingerstyle, playing with a pick, slapping, even tapping!   And all those choices might -seem- like a lot, but that leads me quite nicely into today's topic, which is that, as a modern, computer-equipped musician, you have an absolutely ridiculous amount of options to play with.   To the point, in fact, where you cannot allow yourself to be a perfectionist. With the amount of tools available today, you'll be stuck tweaking and tuning for actual, liter...
