Status Report #8: 29th of June, 2025

Gotta say, this little bike was a good investment.   Heya folks, Amalia here, and it's time for another status report!   Though uh, it feels like there's not -too- much to tell, this time. The blasted summer heat kinda slowed everything down, these past couple of weeks. Well anyway, let's start with our...   Musical projects  Gonna be honest, while we did make some decent progress on our current song in the first of these two weeks (had the week off work, you see), this past week, we had a bit of a break. It's just that we're now in that stage of summer where no matter -what-  you do, you'll be doing it with minimal energy, and possibly while sweating. Which isn't very conducive to good creative work. 😑   We did manage to give our Bass guitar a setup and do some practice on one of our keyboards at least, so we don't feel too guilty. 😛    But yeah, gonna be looking towards more action in that regard again, going forward.   Our shorts project...

Men of War's granddaddy: Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2

There's an animated background for each of the campaign mission select screens. Nice touch, that! Mornin' folks! Amalia here! And i did it again. I got Michael to dig out an old game from his childhood (this one's from 2004) that he never finished, and we rectified that, together.   It actually shook out a fair bit better than it did with Will Rock, too! Lemme tell y'all about it, but first, a bit of background. What -is- this game, and why might it look familiar to some of you?    Well, Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2 (Abbreviated to HOWW2 going forward) is the first game made by Best Way, a Ukranian studio known for the Men of War franchise. And that's why this might all seem very familiar to some of you. HOWW2 is effectively Men of War's grandfather. It came first, followed by "Faces of War", and only then did we get to MOW, and it's 5 gazillion standalone expansions. And that then developed further (with a different dev team) into "Call to...

Mornin' y'all!  Michael here, and it's time to let'cha know how things're going for us, these past couple of weeks! So, let's get right into it with our....   Musical stuff!  Pretty good news on this front! Our current song project's been gathering some momentum. It's a fairly synth-heavy tune, with some bite to it. We've also started playing around with Studio One's functions regarding song tempo, meaning this one's turning into a bit of a roller coaster of fast and slow bits. Though yeah, it's been taking shape, but it's not done, so sssh, don't hold your breath just yet. 😉   The other big thing in this is that on the 13th, we had our second visit to Thomann! Though i won't go too deep into that here. Writing a post especially for that.   Oh, and also, our little shorts project's been working out for us. It's quick and pain-free to make as a little side-project, and it does actually get some views, so that's n...

G'day folks, Michael here!   So, Sunday again, and that means it's blog-time!   We're currently melting in the heat, but hopefully we'll manage to put a cohesive post together for ya. Let's start with our.... Music stuff!   Got a new project in the works, with a dirty, naughty synthesizer sound in it. Progress has been coming in bursts, but it's been truckin' along alright. 🙂   In other news, we're reasonably pleased with Electric Boogaloo's performance on the net. Now, on paper, it got very few views/listens compared to our other songs, but considering there was no marketing budget this time around, we're not complaining!   There was also a bit of a hiccup with publishing it on Spotify, so there were a few days of delay, there. All sorted, though. 😉      Other than that, we've started looking into making some shortform videos where we talk about.... stuff. Kinda like Rambling About, but shorter. Basically like audiologs, or mini-vlo...
