Status Report #7: 15th of June, 2025
Mornin' y'all!
Michael here, and it's time to let'cha know how things're going for us, these past couple of weeks!
So, let's get right into it with our....
Musical stuff!
Pretty good news on this front! Our current song project's been gathering some momentum. It's a fairly synth-heavy tune, with some bite to it. We've also started playing around with Studio One's functions regarding song tempo, meaning this one's turning into a bit of a roller coaster of fast and slow bits.
Though yeah, it's been taking shape, but it's not done, so sssh, don't hold your breath just yet. π
The other big thing in this is that on the 13th, we had our second visit to Thomann! Though i won't go too deep into that here. Writing a post especially for that.
Oh, and also, our little shorts project's been working out for us. It's quick and pain-free to make as a little side-project, and it does actually get some views, so that's neat. π
Now though, moving on to our....
Non-Musical stuff!
Okay, so, our love for Flight Simulator has totally flared back up after the release of the 2024 version put a damper on it. Why, you ask?
Because of this:
Okay, so, bit of background info for you. The Beechcraft Starship has always been a huge favorite of mine because it's a unique machine in just about every way, inside and out.
Black Square, meanwhile, has been our favorite aircraft developer for MSFS, because he (it's 1 guy!) perfectly marries high systems complexity with quality and usability. Also, he focuses on smaller, more interesting planes, rather than big, boring tube-liners.
So a Starship made by Black Square is..... well, let's just say we've been waiting for this release for a while. And it's coming out on the 19th, so this coming thursday.
It'd be fair to say we're a little excited! π
Also, another thing has excited us, too!
See, Amalia's writing a post for this blog about another old game we've dug up, together.
I won't spoil which one it is, but imma say this much: Even before we became a "we", i always quite liked Men of War, and the games using that engine. And in our research, we found out this exists:
Okay, it's a different developer than the MoW/CtA games, and watching some gameplay reveals that it's got iffy voice acting and stuff, but..... it's sort of MoW in WW1! And the steam summer sale is next week! And we actually undershot our budget at Thomann, meaning we don't have to feel too bad for spending a few bucks!
'tis fate, i tell you! Fate! π
So yeah, it's been a fairly video-game-y couple of weeks.
Aside from that, s'been quite hot. But today it's supposed to get thunderstorm-y. Kinda eager for it, actually. Gives us some time to unplug everything (When your apartment is full of expensive musical electronics, you wanna err on the side of caution!) and keep reading that 190-page manual for the Black Square Starship.
Anywho, that'll be it from us for the time being!
Amalia insists i say "hi" for her as well. Odd, considering we usually don't do that, but oh well, such is plural life.^^
Anyway, have a good week, dear readers, and see you next time! π
