Status Report #15: 19th of October, 2025
Good morning, folks! Michael here, and it's that time again.
Got a bit of a serious announcement later on, but first, let's get you updated on our...
.... musical endeavours!
Well, Filetattura di Scarto is still in it's "almost done"-stage. Progress is steady, but it's happening in small little chips at the moment, which doesn't provide much exciting writing material, unfortunately.
Though, thinking about it, we probably oughta make a serious push on this one in the coming week, get it over the finish line. It's a very cool tune, and we really should let people hear it. 😉
But yeah, not much to report on that side of things, for the time being. Now, let's get onto our...
Personal endeavours.
Okay, time for that serious announcement.
You see, on Friday, we came home to a message on our answering machine (Old-school, we know.), informing us that on the evening of Thrusday, the 16th of October, my father passed away at the hospital.
Now, we we usually try and keep things relatively up-beat, both online and off, 'cause it makes for easier living, but i feel i'd be remiss if i hadn't at least mentioned this.
We're getting on as well as can be expected. We had a bit of distance between us (some old wounds from the past), and Amalia's very much supporting me as well, so while the grief is definitely there, we're managing it alright.
It does also mean that the next few weeks could get a little.... complicated, what with the funeral, inheritance (there's a house, but it's got a mortgage on it), bureaucracy and so on.
But well, that shall be our problem, not yours.
So, well. Let's see if we can end on something positive.
Aside from those unfortunate news, we continue to be very much absorbed with DCS. Actually, we decided to put the Hind to one side for the time being and focus entirely on studying the F-16.
..... mostly because we realized that DCS can be seriously complex, and learning two aircraft at once is hardly possible when you have a limited amount of free time.
That said, as cool as the Hind is, the F-16 is more impressive and versatile, so F-16 it is.

| Uh, Tower, what did you say the active runway was? |
Though yes, in a good while, after we grow *very* familiar with the Viper (Or Fighting Falcon, if you prefer), we do wanna get back into a whirlybird. Might be the Hind, but actually, it's fairly likely we'll end up going for the AH-64 Apache. The idea being that after getting familiar with the F-16, another US aircraft should hopefully feel at least slightly more easy to learn, maybe sharing a bit of DNA with the '16, or at least some design philosophy.
As opposed to hopping into a soviet beast from the cold war, with different names for every system, metric units, and so forth.
Besides, you don't say no to a trailer like this:
.... right?
But yeah, that about does it for today's update. Hopefully in the next one, we can report that Filetattura di Scarto is done and preparing for release! Though yeah, things might get a little complicated, as mentioned. Wish us the best!
In the meantime, stay safe and say hi to your parents if they're still around. We'll see you next time!
