Status Report #19: 14th of December, 2025

Michael here, and it's time for yet another Status Report!

Active projects!

Okay, so, a new song is indeed on the starting line, but production has yet to start in earnest. So far, it's an idea, a cool name and a bit of a melody, nothing else. The idea shifted a bit, too. We first thought of doing a sort of TF2-style dramatic big band..... "thing", like this:

.... but now, we've pivoted more towards electro-swing. Well, things are still evolving, and we'll see what the end result will turn out to be.

Meanwhile, you've surely read the first chapter of Casualia Parks, riiiight? Of course you have!😉

And there's good news, too! Chapter 2 is coming up very soon indeed! And we've already got some cool plans for chapter 3 and on!

Really enjoying Planet Zoo, and writing about it, sharing our playthrough like that is just wonderfully cozy. So yeah, definitely expect more of that.😊

I'm also trying to coax Amalia into finally finishing her part of the "Facets of Tulpamancy"-posts. It's about half-written, she just hasn't found time to finish it. But yeah, should get around to that over the holidays, if not sooner.

Other'n that, it's been a fairly busy time for us, just not with our own projects, but general life stuff, so lemme tell you about in in our...

General ramblings!

Well, after our last post, we spent about a week embroiled in post-black friday parcel chaos.

Had to go pick up stuff just about every day after work (our own fault, we know), and meanwhile, the local rail network suffered what can only be described as a total, catastrophic breakdown, where we just couldn't really plan anything time-wise and had to walk home from work a few times. (It's like 5 Kilometers. Not unfeasible, and we do it for fun sometimes, but an hour of walking after work is a little annoying when you still have errands to run that evening.😐)

UPS, meanwhile, dropped a parcel off right at the front door (without permission to do so), which then immediately disappeared. Had to go on a wild goose chase to see if it's still on the grounds somewhere.

It wasn't. Probably got nicked. Thanks, UPS.😕

But with all that said, week 2 was much better, as we now have all the stuff we ordered. The MFDs and F-16 replica throttle for DCS are now in use, along with some handy quick-release desk clamps we decided to get, to optimize our setup.

Dood, what the heck even is our desk at this point?

Oh, and also, we got a new phone. One that actually has a respectable camera on it!

..... so that'll come in handy. It also generally works and can do things, unlike the last one, which is ever such a useful feature.😉

Beyond that, we're still eagerly reading our Battletech book (Warrior: En Garde) and playing Mechwarrior 5. That game made a serious comeback for us, and we're loving it to bits, now.

Recently did the Rise of Rasalhague campaign. Not quite as good as the Legend of the Kestrel Lancers, but still heads and shoulders above the main campaign, which we're still sort of lazily nibbling away at. Looking to start doing some of the Solaris 7 arena stuff with the Arena Control mod.

Oh, and yes, we've been DCSin' with our new gear, of course.

You might say that their mission.... Backfired. Geddit?

Around Christmas, we're looking to start getting into the AH-64, too, so we have a fixed wing and a helicopter to play with.

(Well, we also have the Hind. We'll see which of the two we prefer!)

But yeah, that'll be about it, this week. Only one more week of work for us, then the company closes for the holidays. So by the time you read our next Status Report, we'll have been home for a week.

Probably gonna see a couple more posts from us in-between, though. At the very least the second chapter of Planet Zoo, because that's as good as done.😀
