Status Report #24: 22th of Febuary, 2026
Howdy folks! Amalia here, and it's that time again! Time to let you know what we've been up to in the past fortnight!
So let us tell you about our...
Current projects!
And it's a bit of a tradeoff, this time around. We've been quite happily working away at our next tune, making big strides of progess on it. In fact, in terms of composition, it's done. Beginning to end, the tune is locked in.
Now, it's a case of refining the mix, and doing all the production bits and bobs. Should be fun!
But, in turn, we'll have to admit: We barely made any progress on chapter 5 of Casualia Park. Some very early gameplay's happened, but we haven't found much time for it in the past couple of weeks. Still, we should be able to remedy that soon enough.😉
General life stuff!
Well, our DCS-adventures continue, as you saw in the top picture. In fact, we made a bit of a trade-off. If you read our new year's post, you know we've made resolutions to seriously restrict our purchases, this year. One of the few exceptions we allowed ourselves would have been the Tornado for DCS (As well as a potential naval F-4, Bo-105, whatever might come out).
Well, it then occurred to us that actually, buying brand-new releases for DCS is usually a bit meh, because most of the time, there's systems yet to be implemented, there's bugs and teething problems to solve, and there's generally not much available in terms of learning resources early on.
So we figured no, whatever comes out this year, we'll wait until next year to get. And in turn, we got this baby on sale:
So, we've been learning the legendary F-14. The Top Gun plane. And we both -love- this thing. Unusual, but not unpleasant in terms of aerodynamics, a lovely mix of old and new in terms of systems, a really solid RIO-system, sounds good, looks amazing and finally gives us the option to do cool carrier ops.
Honestly, we feel a bit daft for not getting into this baby earlier.
So yeah, with how much we enjoy this bird, i'd say it's safe to say that Michael and i now have 3 "mains", as it were. The F-16, Ah-64 and the F-14. Curiously, that means we're covering the Air Force, Army -and- Navy, now.
Better get into that Tornado and Bo-105 next year, or people will think we're american.😉
Anyway, one more thing to mention. If you've read the last Status Report, you might be wondering about our walk-in. As in, our third headmate that popped up.
Well to put it bluntly, they've walked back out. Pretty much on the day we posted that. Been feeling kinda silly about it since, actually. It felt like a big change was happening, and there definitely was another sense of self there, but yeah, total radio silence for pretty much the last two weeks.
Gonna guess they've merged back with us. Or dissolved. Or whichever terminology seems appropriate.
Well, i'd be lying if i said i didn't feel a little relieved, personally. I was trying to be welcoming and open to the change, but to be honest.... i kinda just want it to be Michael and me. Three's a crowd, you know?
Well, in any case, that'll be it from us.
In the next couple of weeks, we're looking to keep up the momentum working on our new tune, as well as getting a bit of a move on with Chapter 5 of Casualia.
In the meantime, our dearest Readingtons, do have a a good'un!😉
